How Does Radio Frequency Skin Tightening Work?
Radio frequency technology works for skin tightening by producing safe levels of low-frequency electromagnetic waves to generate heat. This stimulates the production of collagen and elastin necessary for skin firmness, elasticity, and thicker, firmer skin.
Not all radio frequency technologies work the same; ATTIVA is much different than RF microneedling, which uses tiny needles to penetrate the skin to deliver rejuvenating radiofrequency energy. Radio frequency microneedling intentionally injures the skin’s surface, so it often requires a few days of recovery time to heal any redness or tiny marks.
ATTIVA does not cause injury to the surface of the skin, so recovery happens even faster – sometimes with zero downtime!
What Is ATTIVA?
ATTIVA technology has been used in European countries for years as “the ultimate technology to treat sagging skin.” The technology was developed through technical and scientific research and has three patents.
ATTIVA uses electromagnetic waves that raise the internal temperature of skin tissues, stimulating collagen and elastin production. The FDA-approved ATTIVA device utilizes a highly responsive thermal imaging camera for precise skin temperature control throughout the treatment.
What to Expect During ATTIVA Treatment
The ATTIVA device uses a microcannula, a tiny, flexible tube that goes under the skin and emits radiofrequency. This achieves fabulous standalone results without the need for large incisions, scars, pain, post-op garments, or downtime.
Literally, any part of the body can be tightened: brows, eyelids, face, neck, arms, breasts, abdomen, back, buttocks, and legs. Treatment times vary based on the area, though one area typically takes about 30 minutes.
Immediately after the first session, most patients will see some enhancement. The full result is obtained after two to three months following the treatment after the body has had time to produce new elastin and collagen fibers.
